Valamar Isabella Resort

Valamar Isabella island resort is  one of our favorite places to stay while in Poreč, Croatia. The resort is located on the island Sveti Nikola, which can be easily accessible by a cute little boat. The island is pretty small (you can get around the whole island in about 25 minutes by foot) but that is what makes it special in our opinion.

This resort is perfect for anyone who is trying to relax and enjoy your time on holidays away from all the traffic and the crowds tourists. The island resort is surrounded with the Mediterranean greenery and the pine forest. you can choose between a sandy and a rocky beach, there are also two swimming pools. The view of the ocean is spectacular from any part of the island, you can also see the city of Poreč from one side of the island.

You can stay at the Valamar Isabella hotel****, Valamar isabella Miramare***** or Valamar Isabella castle. All of the above are super luxorious and you can expect an amazing experience staying and any of the above hotels. Our favorite is the Miramare, the one in the photo below.

Feel like royalty in Valamar Isabella castle 🙂

Top 5 things to see in Vienna

Vienna is one of our favorite cities in Europe. It is just few hours away from my hometown so i have visited it many times but every time i go i still discover new things.

There are many places to visit and things to do. Here are our top 5 things you shouldn’t miss while visiting Vienna.

Get a coffee in the city center

First of all you should go to the center and grab a coffee and get the feel of the city and the people. That is my favorite things to do in every city i visit for the first time. The architecture is breathtaking and the whole city gives off a romantic vibe.

Stephans platz

While you are in the centre go to Stephans platz, where you can see one of the most iconic buildings in Vienna, St. Stephen’s Cathedral. It is one of the Austria’s most important landmarks and it is truly breathtaking. You can also climb the 343 steps up to the tower and enjoy the view of the city. Fun fact: Mozart was married in this church in 1782.

Try the original Sacher cake

This is a must try, if you are in Vienna. You can try the original Sacher cake in Sacher Hotel. We are not the biggest Sacher cake fans, but the whole experience is amazing. The cake was invented by Franz Sacher in 1832, when the chef of the court of Prince Metternich had fallen ill just on the day prince ordered a new dessert for a special event. 16 years old trainee named Franz Sacher steped in and created a new dish. Today, Hotel Sacher sells about 360,000 sachertortes per year, so you know you have to try it 🙂

The next thing that you must visit in Vienna is the flea market. The world’s largest open air market of food is present in Vienna and it is open from Monday to Saturday. It contains number of stalls and it also has the buckets which are full of tulips and pickles. The stalls also contain number of wines and plump and it is the market where you cannot stop from shopping. On Saturdays the market is famous to visit as it become the bargain market.

Kunsthistorisches Museum and park

If you like visiting museums, you should go to to Museumsquartier, which is the eighth largest cultural area in the world and is packed with Museums of all kinds. If you only have time for one, visit Kunsthistoriches museum (Museum of fine art) that has one of the best collections of art pieces in the world. The architecture of the building is amazing by itself.

Schoenbrunn Palace and the gardens

Schoenbrunn is the former summer residence of the imperial family, and is one of Europe’s most impressive Baroque palaces. It has 1441 rooms, some of which you can visit.

The park is so big that you can walk for hours. There is also the oldest zoo in the world at  Schoenbrunn, so make sure you take your time when you go visit.

There are many other things to see and do in Vienna, but we think these are ‘a must see’ even if you are just visiting for a short period of time. We can’t get enough of this city so we can’t wait to come back as soon as possible.

Have you ever been to Vienna? What is your favorite ‘must see’ spot?

25 Hour Hotel Review

Vienna has always been one of my favorite cities within my driving distance, so we love to visit this amazing city from time to time. This time we wanted to be in the city center, so i could see as much as possible by foot. We decided to check out the 25hours hotel****, since the location is really good and also because the interior looked like so much fun.

The location is amazing. It is located at the Museumquartier, which is the Museum District, which is amazing if you want to visit some museums like the Museum of Modern art (Mumok), The Leopold Museum and so on. There are many bars and restaurants around and also a gorgeous little park with a fountain right in front of the hotel, where people had picnics. There is also a summer and beer garden called Burger De Ville outside, where you can eat, drink and chat under the open sky.  If you arrive by car you can park it on the street (weekends are free) or in the nearby parking garage, which is 28 € a day.

The hotel is pretty big, since it contains 217 rooms, but it is really cosy thanks to the interior design. As soon as we arrived to the reception we fell in love with it, mostly because of the interesting and witty design details, but also because the receptionists were super nice – they asked us if we needed late checkout the next day, which happened for the fist time. Usually we have to beg for another hour 🙂 We actually took up on the offer and they extended out stay till 2 p.m. which was amazing.

There is a big swing in the ‘living room’, two iMac stations that you can use free of charge, jogging corner, where you can grab a bottle of water and a towel before you go out for a jog and a kiosk, where you can buy some funky souveniers.

The hotel has a cool circus-like vibe. The first thing you see when you arrive at the hotel is the big sign in the front which says ‘We are all mad here’. There is a burger place outside, where you can grab a bite. Interior of the hotel has millions of little interesting details that will make you whip out your camera and take pictures every five seconds 🙂 Check out some of my pics:

Our room was the same way, so much fun.  We were especially impressed with the cool speakers and of course the mural on the wall +  all the little details the hotel is known for. The bed was really comfy as well.  The internet is really fast and free of charge. We had so much fun with the ‘do not disturb’ sign. You can choose from different signs such as ‘please place aspirin in front of the door and leave’ as in do not disturb and ‘ remember the movie hangover? This is worse.’ As in my room is a mess, please clean up 🙂

The hotel also has a rooftop terrace with a bar. The view is breathtaking. We could bearly get a seat in the evening, since the place was packed, even people that did not stay at the hotel came for drinks, so you know it is nice.

You can also rent a MINI car or a bike free of charge – how fun is that? 🙂 You also get a Freitag bag that you can use while staying at the hotel.

We loved our stay in Vienna, and would love to come back to 25hours. Maybe next time in different city, since they are also located in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Zurich and Berlin.

Skopje Getaway at New Star Skopje

We have never been to the beautiful Macedonia, so we wanted to take a city break and  explore the capital city of Skopje.

We decided stay and the beautiful New star hotel, mostly because we fell in love with the pictures of the interior and the size of the rooms. The outside of the hotel also looks gorgeous:

The Hotel is located a few kilometers away from the center. But that is not a problem, since you can get there by Taxi, which costs about 4€ to get to the centre. The receptionists were really nice and called as a cab every time we decided to go to the city.

We arrived on Friday night and were welcomed by a lovely receptionist who took us to our suite.

The lobby was gorgeous, but we especially loved the ‘living room’ in our floor. It had a fireplace, cosy sofas and lots of books to choose from. Its a perfect way to spend an evening after a whole day of wandering around Skopje.

But the best part was our room. We were amazed by the size of the suite, which was as big as an apartment! It was one of the biggest rooms i have ever seen and the interior decor is lovely as well.

The room consists of a huge living space with tv and sofas, and a spacious bathroom with two showers. The bed was really big and extremely comfortable, so we had a good night sleep.

There are also all the other amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel like the New Star – free wifi in the rooms, air conditioning, room service, laundry and ironing service, rich bufet breakfast and many others.

There is also a restaurant in a hotel with a wide selection of various meat products, seafod, vegeterian dishes and salads. We ordered room service on two occasions and i have to say that we were really impressed by the food. They even made us something to eat after the official room service hours.

The hotel also has a big fitness area, with all kinds of equipment – It is definetelly one of the biggest gyms we have ever seen in a hotel.

There are also two pool tables in the gym. If you are more outdoorsy type, you can also use a tennis and basketball courts outside and a huge swimming pool, that is open in the summer.

The hotel is specialized in hosting weddings and has two wedding halls, that can sit up to a few hundred people. We were so happy to actually witness one, since the weddings in Macedonia are huge. They also host many events by the pool in the summer. All of the staff were really nice and professional and very helpful.

We really enjoyed or stay at the hotel and would recomend it if you are visiting Skopje. You can check out their website here:
