Smartphones have made it so much easier to plan and arrange a vacation with the help of travel apps. We can’t imagine traveling without this helpful travel apps, so we thought we would share our favorite ones.

Citymapper

For navigating around cities people use Google maps, but use Citymapper and you will feel the difference. It’s easy to use and playful that will provide you with a detailed journey planner. It includes disruption alerts, real-time departures and has Uber integration. It covers the city break destinations and is available for 30 cities around the world.

The reason this free app has become so popular after it was launch is its feature of go-to-site for currency conversion, something that you need most while traveling in foreign country. Tripit

Looking for a travel agent? Have it in your smartphone by downloading Tripit! It will pull out information from your emails for hotels, flights, events bookings and rental cars and then prepare a single itinerary for you. All you have to do is forward your confirmation emails to the app. This free app will let you share your plans with your group members if you are planning a trip with a group. They can use it on their iOS or Android based smartphones.

App in the Air

Looking for an app that will track flights and cover different airport for best flying options? Download App in the Air, that will give you updated status about flights, help you manage your time at the airport and integrate it with ‘Tripit’ to make your experience better. This free app will provide you with information such as weather reports at airports, delays in flight and more, you will also get tips from other passengers about the airport, like where you can find free Wifi, the best coffee etc.

While traveling this app acts as your Mom! Yes, it is a packing list generator that customizes your checklist by using your travel information. Just let PackPoint know your gender and the place where you are going and the time. Then the app will suggest you what clothing to take and which gears will be needed there. This too is a free app and syncs with Tripit to get travel information.

This useful app will help you find your favorite cuisine restaurant and concert tickets easily. You can even create a customized travel guide for your holidays.   1. Hi there. I came across your blog and I find this article very interesting. I used CityMapper when I was abroad. I can say this app is so useful. I used this app whenever I needed a transport to go somewhere a bit far from my destination. It shows me which bus to take to arrive the desired destinations. I never heard of some other apps you mentioned above. I will definitely try out the apps mentioned above. Thanks for the list. So useful for travellers like me. Cheers
